What does Stoke-on-Trent West branch Labour party do?
A branch is the smallest unit of the national Labour party. We organise social events, local activities and campaigns in our area. At our meetings we discuss national and local issues, hear from local campaigners and trade unions, organise our campaigns and get the views of our members on what our priorities should be.
We are part of the West Midlands Labour. You can help to shape local policy and this is a great way to start a campaign that could influence the Shadow Cabinet, Labour’s deputy leader Angela Rayner or Labour leader Keir Starmer.
Who can be a member of Stoke-on-Trent West branch Labour party?
All Labour party members who live in Basford, Boothen, Cliffe Vale, Harpfields, Hartshill, Oakhill, Penkhull, Springfields, Stoke, Trent Vale and West End will automatically become a member of our branch. Get in touch if you’re a member and would like to know more or want to get involved. It doesn’t matter if you’re a new member or someone who joined a while ago and wants to get more involved, we’d love to hear from you.
All of our members live locally and at our meetings you will meet neighbours and make new friends. It’s a great way to get involved in your local community. We have a wide range of members, including students, mums, dads, retired people, teachers, warehouse workers, computer programmers, care workers, librarians, doctors, nurses, firefighters, volunteers and business owners.
How can I get involved with my local Labour party?
Please get in touch if you can help deliver our leaflets. We always appreciate additional help. All our delivery rounds are between 150-250 properties and take 60-90 minutes to complete. These can be done in your own time, at your own pace.
Some people enjoy telephone canvassing. We have a really good system for this activity. All you require is a phoneline and a computer. This can also be done from home, in your own time and is at no cost to yourself.
We love getting out and about to chat to residents in our communities. We’ll be back out on the streets, listening to our communities as soon as we can.
