Local resident Lee Polshaw is the Labour candidate for Penkhull & Stoke

We are delighted that Penkhull resident Lee Polshaw will be the Labour candidate for the Stoke-on-Trent City Council by-election to be held in Penkhull & Stoke on 1 July 2021.

Lee, who has lived in Penkhull since 2005, says her knowledge of the area puts her in an excellent position to represent residents in the ward. Lee said, “Living in the area means I have a real understanding of the things that matter to the local people. I am very proud to live in Penkhull, an area I really love. As I live here, I want the very best for the area”.

We have already had a fantastic response from the local community at the start of this campaign. Lee said, “Key issues affecting us at the moment include the smell from the landfill site in Silverdale. Parking can also be a problem and it is these types of issues that I will make my priorities, should my neighbours select my as their new councillor for the area”.

Councillor Jane Ashworth OBE, the leader of Stoke-on-Trent Labour Group on the city council, has been really supportive, saying, “Lee is incredibly passionate about all things Penkhull and Stoke and I know she would fight tooth and nail for residents in this wonderful area. As well as her passion for the community in which she lives, Lee has had real connectivity with organisations and residents throughout her career”.

As a local resident, Lee understands the area really well. She said, “I will always work hard for the people and put them first to get their local problems sorted out”.
