Shaun Pender is the current councillor for the ward and he was re-elected in May 2019.

Shaun’s ward covers part of Basford, Cliffe Vale, Harpfields, part of Hartshill and part of Stoke town centre.

Shaun is a former Trade Union Studies lecturer at Stoke-on-Trent College. He is a Regional Officer for Unite the Union and he has been a councillor since 2011.

He was formerly Cabinet Member for Education and is currently Chair of the Children and Young People’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
