Recent weeks have shown that the city doesn’t have adequate winter-weather protection. There are whole neighbourhoods that are too slippery to walk around when we have snowy weather.

We all know that pavements can be lethal when they are icy but the Council doesn’t seem to have any plan for dealing with them​.

​There are not enough grit bins. And the ones we do have are too often full of rubbish or water. We need more grit bins and we need them to be properly maintained.

Side roads often don’t get gritted. Residents need access to the grit bins so they have the option to make the pavements safe themselves.
