Supporting families and individuals in Springfields and Trent Vale
We are really pleased to hear about the launch of the Better Together Community Support Group for Springfields and Trent Vale. Birgit Allport, our candidate for the area, is delighted to be supporting Carley Oldacre, the chair of the group, to launch it.
This is a new group to support families and individuals living in the area and it is launching on Saturday 2 March.
Better Together is a community support group that will bring together people in need of food, advice or activities with volunteers and skills sharers. Together, the group will build a stronger community.
The group is a team of volunteers who want to make a difference in their community. The group is completely non-judgemental. Everyone will be treated with respect and all information will be treated confidentially.
The Better Together group aims to offer a free community meal once a week, alongside offering support to people when they need it most. The volunteers will be there to lend a listening ear, a sense of a caring community and provide advice.
You are invited! Come along to the Group’s launch for a free buffet and a chat. There will even be facepainting!
When: Saturday 2 March 2019 12pm-3pm
Where: Queensberry Hub at Newcastle Road (former Jubilee Working Men’s Club)
Please come along and join in. Get in touch with Birgit if you have any suggestions or would like to volunteer.
