Stoke-on-Trent West Labour Labour in Basford, Boothen, Cliffe Vale, Harpfields, Hartshill, Oakhill, Penkhull, Springfields, Stoke, Trent Vale and West End

Can you join Birgit Allport and Tony Lloyd MP this Saturday?
Our local member Birgit Allport is standing as the Labour candidate in the Stoke-on-Trent council elections on 2 May this year for the Springfields and Trent Vale area where she lives.
Birgit has been out campaigning every week to speak to residents. She has been helping them to deal with issues such as rubbish in streets, weeds overgrowing in alleyways, lack of parking and anti-social behaviour. Birgit has even been helping a resident so he can try to get an old tree stump removed from outside his house!
Birgit regularly attends events in the community. She was at the Christmas event at Affordable Food in Blurton and made sure everyone attending had a Christmas card. Birgit’s also been to an event at the Queensberry Amateur Boxing Club in Trent Vale and the opening of the multi-faith centre in Stoke. Birgit will continue going to the Partners & Communities Together (PACT) meetings with the police and other organisations in the area.
Birgit was really pleased to be able to help resolve a parking issue recently. The residents on Wain Drive had been paying for parking on what was a bit of muddy ground. It’s now looking much better with a proper tarmac surface.
This weekend (26 January) we will be joined on the doorstep by Tony Lloyd MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. Tony has served as a Labour Councillor, Police and Crime Commissioner and interim Mayor of Greater Manchester, and during his parliamentary career has served as Minister of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and as Chair of the Parliamentary Labour Party.
We are delighted to have Tony join the campaign to get Birgit elected in Springfields and Trent Vale. If Labour are to win back Stoke-on-Trent City Council in May we need to win seats like this. Can you come for a campaign session and help us speak to local residents?
